Live a simpler, more frugal, natural, and sustainable life.
Last year we made some big shifts towards a better life, as defined by us.
- Aaron now makes all of our bread, including pitas
- Aaron makes most of our pasta
- more canning, including tomato sauce, and relish
- our first wild harvest resulted in elderberry jelly
- more knitting = homemade gifts, and homemade wool socks
- got rid of extra "stuff"
- ditched cable for the summer
- make buckskins
- buy little to no processed foods- this is a big one
- plant a bigger garden with raised beds
- can more stuff
- make sauerkraut
- make our own cheese
- ditch cable again in the summer
- BEEES!!
- wild harvest more
- keep our grocery budget under $150 every other week. ($75/week) That's below the USDA's "thrifty" budget for a family of 2
- get to a healthier weight
- fast once a month
- knit Aaron a wooly pully (big green wool sweater)
- finish our mid state trail hike
- have "date night" once a month
